I could make the weapons/equipment squares wider, and the mfd's bigger length and width, but not the compass, jump jet fuel, speedometer or coolant meters or radars...so, it might not look very good.
I think these could be future considerations for a later patch and they would need to be decent looking, but for right now I'd like to be done with this project and offer it up. I think those screenshots look good and are just what we were shooting for. If that's all of them, then I'm ready to put this together. Get it ready Tele and do the install with both .exe changes and the reader. If you're using an installer like install creator then all you need is the file path for the reader anyway. Here's the registry key info I have on my windows 7 64 bit laptop:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MicroProse\MechWarrior 3\1.0 InstallOptions = 0x00040507 Program = "C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3\" Version = "1.2"

This one is also valid:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\mech3.exe (Default) = "C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3\mech3.exe" Path = "C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3\"

and this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectPlay\Applications\MechWarrior 3 CurrentDirectory = "C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3\" File = "Mech3.exe" Guid = "{461E6561-563C-11D3-95AF-0060089877F0}" Path = "C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3\"

Thanks for the registry keys!
BTW I noticed that if you switch mouse mode in third person view in the game it will sometimes get stuck in one mode. Therefore I thought about adding a reset option to my launcher, unless there is already an easier way to fix this?

I think the bigger size of higher resolution monitors will probably balance out the shrinking of the HUD at those resolutions somewhat.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I do know that sometimes if you switch to the free reticule and try to switch back it gets stuck in a free reticule that stays on the horizontal, and usually the way I fix it is to hit ctrl-numpad 0 or something, I forget exactly how I fix it but it works. If you're looking to mess around with other things in the .exe, I'm sure we can think of some other, cooler things

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the field of view doesn't change. The resolution is changing, but there is no extra visibility on the sides (easily tested with the buildings at the start of the lake instant action) making everything short and fat.

Did you choose a resolution that your PC/graphics card is capable of?

Which files did you use? The ones in the 4x3, 16x9 or 16x10 folder? Can you post a screenshot?

I'll just use your screenshot since it exactly at the start of the lake map and shows what I see. mechwarriorsunited.freeforums.net/attachment/download/49Look at the building right above the cockpit on the right side. The blue window is always on the edge of the screen; it doesn't matter what patch/no patch or resolution. Like a lot of older games it forces a 4:3 viewing area regardless of the resolution.

You're right, there is indeed an issue. We're looking into it but so far we haven't found a way to adjust the FoV.

So how bad of an issue is this? When I looked at the two screenshots I'm not sure I could see what the problem was..

The picture is stretched, that's the issue. Not sure how bad it is, I didn't even notice.
