Post your system specs. The bouncy apc and video tearing can both be fixed with hardware settings. I do recall the ati fix but I do not recall what it was for. I think I have a line on it though. I will look in to it and get back to you.

This EXE is for crimson skies and has the ati patch as an integral part of the installer. I have asked the host if they still have the stand alone ati patch. Perhaps some one here can strip out the ati patch, I do not have the expertise. Also, it may not be necessary to strip it out as mw3 and crimson skies both use the same engine and the patch works for both games. www.dropbox.com/s/a6mh0osyi40xqls/CRIMSON_SKIES_Setup.exe?dl=0

I would prefer to try the video tearing fix first. Because then I can have high graphics, and the video tearing is the only problem in Hardware mode. I have tried this so far: What else can I do?

Hmmm. Are you using a solid state hard drive or a regular SATA drive with a rotational disk inside it?

I am using whatever came in this laptop, so it's probably a SATA with rotational disk. And thank you Perigren, I very much appreciate you helping me. Let me know if there is anything I should be doing/researching.

Ok, Here it is! I am happy to present to you all that need it, the ati 64 bit patch!! I have used it and it works. I am presuming you all know what to do with it, I do not have the time to write up a detailed set of instructions at this time,I am hoping some one here will run with it. I installed and ran Crimson Skies that already had that patch, and Crimson Skies worked fine, but I don't understand how to incorporate the patch with MechWarrior 3. I tried MW3 and there was no change.
I don't think I need a detailed explanation, but what do I need to do?

First create a restore point in the event something goes badly. It has been a few years since I did this so bear with me. I think but am not positive till I can do it for my self that you apply the fix to the mw3 folder. Start there.

I downloaded it and double cliked on the exe, but that is the Crimson Skies launcher, so it doesn't launch. I don't understand how this is a stand alone patch. I see that it has csfix.dll and atiumd64.dll. It also has a readme for CS.
I opened to MechWarrior3 folder, but it is not obvious to me what needs to be done. I tried just putting the files in there and that didn't work. I would think I need to somehow modify the exe to use this dll as opposed to the dll that is in my System32 folder.
Sorry if I'm being stupid. :/
I have written my own small game in C++ and understand what dll's / libraries are, and how to link them, but I don't understand exactly what this patch needs to do. Replace another dll? Add functionality? I know it has to do with my graphics card z-buffer, but that's about it.
