Good luck to me. I will try this tonight. EDIT: No luck Is your problem the same as mine was? And what was your console output? Says it couldn't find the location. I will try and delete the ZBD and pilot folders next time. I still had a renamed MW3.exe in the folder from a past install.

I'm guessing: You need to have your cd in the drive. The exe in the same folder as Mech3.exe No modifications to Mech3.exe

Yw Sturm, Do you have the nocd patch by chance? If so would you be so kind to post it?

Wolvie once explained to me how to make a no cd fix in the .exe that would run better on windows xp because the old traditional no cd patch had problems with xp as it was messy/glitchy. I will try to find his instructions and make it and upload it.

Tried all the above, including using "mw3patchddraw.exe". PM works without tearing in s/ware mode however when I use the "mw3patchddraw.exe" it keeps stopping it from loading up stating I have to install DX7.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Hello,
I've tried downloading and using the mw3patchddraw.exe file, but when I try to open Mech3.exe, the screen briefly converts to 640X480 then cuts back to normal, with the game crashing. What should I do?

I believe you need to rename your original exe to something else and rename the new exe to the original mw3 exe name. then try it.

I'd just like to say that I was trying out mw3 on my pc and had the bouncing APC bug. In addition to this, however, my Bushwacker suddenly jumps into the air and stays there. Has this happened to anyone else and is their a way of fixing it (such as the link posted above)?

To fix the bouncing asset bug, you need to get your gpu/cpu to work as hard as possible,or underclock them. The problem is that newer systems can render to fast and the game engine cannot cope. I am sure there are others that can give more technical explanations.

Has anyone been able to figure out how to apply the AMD/ATI ddraw patch to Pirate's Moon? When I try it the game stops working and insists I don't have DirectX installed. Maybe whoever made the original patch made a version explicitly for the expansion?

To My knowledge the AMD/ATI ddraw issue has never been fixed for Pirate's Moon. the patch that fixes the issue for Mechwarrior 3 specifically does so for DirectX 6 or 6.1 (whichever mech 3 requires). unfortunately Pirate's Moon uses DirectX 7, which is why when you apply the patch it complains that it is not installed. Though it was much requested the creator of the patch never got around to making one for pirate's moon (or posting the source code for the orignal patch so we could see how he did it).
