Hi, I have been looking for the MechWarrior3 depth buffer fix. Also known as the ATI card fix, this was a fan made patch. Does anyone know where I can find it? I used to be hosted on mechwarrior3.org

If you are referring to the rez patch made by EoP, I have it and will get to posting it here soon.

I just looked for it, not here. I have it at work......
I did, however, find a bunch of map packs including ultra ice and circle of equals. If there is interest I will upload them here, let me know.

Hey Peri, how about can you host what you have on a cloud? then put the links here and I'll start a downloads page on the main site with buttons for links to everyone's downloads? I use a free hosting cloud called dropbox, it works pretty well, check it out.

I would be interested in map packs, but the game isn't even playable right now. I am having this issue: It is due to the depth buffer apparently, but I got software to force a 16bit buffer and it doesn't seem to work. A patch is my only hope. I'm pretty sure it's linked to this error : www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33975889

Actually, this is what my error is right now. www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33975889. (this page loads only a bit, does this happen for anyone else?) I this pixelated MW3 problem the same ATI card problem. Not sure though. I downloaded ATI Tray tools which claimed that it was forcing a 16 bit depth buffer, but the glitch persisted and without anyway to verify why it wasn't working. Anyone with this problem should get ATI Tray Tools and install it, and try forcing 16 bit depth buffer. Maybe it will work for you, let me know if it does, or if you need help installing ATI Tray Tools. It crashes your computer if you don't install it correctly on some laptops (like my laptop). Not a destructive crash though, so it isn't a risk. Also, anyone with access to the MW3.org files, with that patch I would love to have those if you could post/host them.

This still happens, even with the EoP res patch. I have the French version (I don't speak French), and I have it updated to 1.2. Normal MechWarrior 3, not Pirate Moon. I put the exe in the correct folder, saved the original Mech3.exe as Mech3_original, and renamed the exe I downloaded to Mech3.exe. Then I double click on Mech3.exe. Did I do anything wrong, or is this not the right patch for this problem? Has this problem ever been fixed? Thanks P.S. I also tried it, but without the 1.2 patch, and the game doesn't even launch in that case (as would be expected).

The rez patch fixes a different issue. This is vertical tearing, fiddle with your vsync settings and also be sure your monitor is set for 60hz. Modern monitors and vid cards tend to have higher refresh rates and can cause issues with older games.
I guess I will have to get it running on my system again and post the steps I take. I had it running on w7 64 bit 6 core amd cpu and ati 6950 vid card with no issues, just took a bit of fiddling.

If you want dude, I can get you the English ISOs for Mechwarrior 3 and the Pirate's Moon Expansion pack. Here you go: www.mediafire.com/download/iw7k60yjm6ba9x9/MW3.ISOwww.mediafire.com/download/tubvl3yi2l0gt35/MW3+PM.isoAlso, apply these files once you're done installing MW3 in the Main folder to overwrite the old files to improve performance and to make the game run without the need of the ISO or CD ROM: www.mediafire.com/download/4b4a2hmn15aawmg/MW3+No+CD_ISO+Patch.zipOnce you get the game working and running, if you experience any problems in-game such as bouncing or flying APCs, flickering crosshairs, mech tripping or not taking off while trying to jump jet, try this CPU utility as it has gotten rid of that problem for me. Try playing with the meter between 50 to 99. I run a quad core AMD FX4100 on my MW3 rig and set it to 99. Varies per machine: www.mediafire.com/download/ary1yg1jc02gpnh/cpugrab.exe

Thanks, I will try that, but I doubt it will fix the graphics problems. The graphics problems only occur if I use the Primary Display Driver. If I use Software Rendering, then I get the bouncy APC problem, and the patches don't seem to fix it, I have also used CPU grabber (to 99%), and the problem persisted. Do you think it will be different with the english version?
