Clearly we need someone with technical skills. I do not remember how I got it working, it was several years ago and rl has been quite overwhelming lately.

When this is all hashed out and I have a clear description of what to do with it and I have an understanding of how I'm going to organize these patches I will get them up on the downloads page.

The reason it says it needs IFC21.dll is because that .exe is the crimson skies launcher. You can take all the dll's from the Crimson Skies folder and put it in the directory, and so it won't complain about missing dll's but that doesn't really solve the issue. It just says corrupt database because it can't find the expected CS files.
I THINK the issue is that That Crimson Skies launcher has been modified to use those special DLL files. In other words, it doesn't just patch that game engine on your computer (what is the name of the engine?). In order to fix Mech Warrior 3, we would need to have the Mech3.exe edited to use those dll's as well. I am a CS major and have done a bit of assembly, but that is way out of my league.
I would also like to point out that the atiumd64.dll can be found in your System32 folder, except for me, the file is very different in size. I'm thinking that the engine expects to use that, so the CS exe was modified to use the dll in it's home directory, as apposed to getting the one in System32. So maybe there is a way to get Mech3 to do that as well? <-- this is speculation

Here is a link to a post I made mack in 2012 at MW:LL about this, unfortunately the ati fix I had linked to was on mw3.org. There is a mirror link there but I am not sure where it goes. forum.mechlivinglegends.net/index.php/topic,18372.0.html Peri EDIT: the link is not complete with out the ,18372.0.html for some reason it is being excluded from the active link. try to copy and paste it.

HOLY #$%&*#$% IT WORKS Just extract those things into the same folder as your Mech3.exe folder, double click on the exe that you extracted, and you are good to go. If you want to see what it says in console, cd over to that directory and launch the exe from commandline. Thank you all so much! I recommend making a mirror of this ASAP so the files aren't lost. docs.google.com/file/d/0BxP3PyWTrY3FaWd1V0pTemJmLWs/editP.S. I play MWO also when I can, so if you ever want to join me, my name in game is "AlphaThis", no quotes For anyone reading this in the far flung future when this forum is dead and or the stars have burned out, if you need the patch, email me at Strikerklm100@yahoo.com, except reduce the number in the email address by 4.

Sorry about that, here is what I did. I actually did two separate things, so now i'm not sure which one did it. But in reality they were the same thing: Notes: I did not update to 1.2, I just had it as 1.0 This assumes you installed MW3 in the standard directory, if you didn't, you should know what to change in the tutorial READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING 1. Download mech3radeonfix.zip docs.google.com/file/d/0BxP3PyWTrY3FaWd1V0pTemJmLWs/edit?pli=12. Extract both files to the C:\MicroProse\MechWarrior3 directory. This directory should contain a file called Mech3.exe 3. Here is where I did two things: a. Open a command line and enter these commands: cd C:\MicroProse\backup\MechWarrior3 mw3patchddraw.exe RECORD WHAT THE OUTPUT SAYS AND POST IT PLEASE The thing I did first was just double click on the exe, but then I didn't get to see what the output of the program was. THE PATCH ONLY FIXES THIS PROBLEM ON AN ATI GRAPHICS CARD: </div>
