There are other things I did. I moved the enemy box a little to the right, and the jumpjet fuel should be directly underneath the speed meter.

While you're fooling around with it, just for shits n giggles, why don't you toggle the large radar circle and see how it looks?

Alright. I also tried to move the heat meter and coolant fuel down, but they stayed as well. Strange. Unless there's another subfile I need to tinker with it would seem as though these settings want to default for some reason (perhaps because nothing in the factory resolutions comes close) but they don't have a better set of coordinates to default to.

reader.zip (116.78 KB) Ok try this one, then we have to pick it up another time, I gotta get to work. I changed a default entry in a file called "detail.zrd" which has to do with some video settings and ram settings and so forth. the setting I changed was a default under the heading "zvid", and I changed the default from like, 640x320x16 to 1024x768x16, figuring that this would be the smallest setting on current pc's. So, let's see if my theory is right. Also, I changed the speedmeter and jjfuel to the same coordinates as the 1600x900 setting. I await the screenshot..

This is a portion of what reads in that detail file I mentioned. It has defaults for all kinds of settings, ram for textures, sound, ect.. However, it has been my experience that sometimes making settings in files like this within the main reader have no effect due to other files needing editing as well. I'm betting this file depends on how the .exe relates to it as far as what changes will take effect.

no effect
Is it possible to download that workbench somewhere?
And your probably right about the game defaulting to that position. The x coordinate of the speed gauge is around 640, that's the width of the HUD when the game can't find the proper HUD file.
