Got a new computer for the sole purpose of being able to make videos of my Mech3 mods...and I'm sure I'll use it for other things like playing vengeance/mercs online, maybe even MWLL although it seems a little slow but we'll see.
It's a refurbished Dell 740 with an AMD Athlon processor, 2.0 ghz and an Nvidia integrated graphics, with windows 7 professional 64 bit, only $89.00 at tiger direct and guess what...
installed game and works fine, no glitches.
I'm not sure if my no-cd .exe I'm using that I've re-used on several installs may or may not carry EOP's resolution patch, but no vehicle glitches so far. Weapons mod installed, still works fine. I'll put exact specs in another thread soon.
Listened to the mod with actuall speakers for the first time ever as I've always used headphones previously and I gotta say...woweee! I love it!
So, to the point: I recorded some instant action with Fraps and the gameplay lagged. The result was the playback was in fast forward and only the top left portion of the screen got recorded.
I had the fps set at 30.
I imagine what I have to do for the partial screen problem is set my screen resolution to match the game resolution setting I guess.
Oh yeah, and there was no sound recorded and I don't know why.
What's causing the fast-forward playback? Anyone have any ideas?

If you are using the last completely free version (1.9d) you can only do 640x480 movies.

Well I got it with Bandicam. Works fine except that sometimes the PC locks up when running the game and trying to record. Oh well.

Yeah you definitely need to add more ram to that thing if possible.

I'm surprised it ran Mech3 bada-bing. The integrated Nvidia has no problem with it. I did get the radeon you got though yoga but I wanted to try the on board graphics first. We'll see what happens when I install the radeon.

The Radeon handles old stuff surprisingly well in my experience but from the sounds of it the integrated Nvidia might be better for you, since I still have some slight issues.

Ah, that's annoying. I'm glad your Nvidia works out for you. I still recommend getting an R9 270 though if you're thinking of getting into some of the newer games without spending a ton of money. It's been pretty effective for me so far.

Thanks, I'll check it out, welcome to our forums! Update: I upgraded to 4 gigs of ram and have had several successful videos with Bandicam, even going with higher refresh rate, it seems to run better using 60 fps, and I was even able to go to my normal screen resolution on the recordings...1600x900. However, for some odd reason and it seems totally random, there are days when the game freezes up (while using bandicam) at the mission loading dialogue screen.
Other than that issue it seems to me that windows 7 64 bit has no problem running MechWarrior 3 whatsoever. The integrated Nvidia might be friendly with it, but my gut tells me windows7 64 bit is the key. I haven't installed Pirate's Moon on the new PC yet.
edit: I think you meant open broadcaster software, got it downloaded and I'll be trying it out.

edit: I think you meant open broadcaster software, got it downloaded and I'll be trying it out. Oh, yeah, yeah. On win7x64 i was even able to turn on forced antialiasing in video card control panel. With win8.1(or, maybe, its problem with newer drivers) turning faa on resulting in extreme artifartcs. But game itself running good (and without jumping APC) with just FPS limiter.
