It's possible that the reader I've been working on has gotten corrupt, but we can't discount that we're in unfamiliar waters. There are also other graphics issues that show up with the changes to the reader.zbd. Stripes on the landscapes, boot to desktop. Earlier versions of windows seemed to skip over these issues more often, as if the newer versions of windows are more sensitive and need to have the code in mech3 be perfect, which it isn't. I could try and do it over again with a fresh install, although it was pretty tedious, and the reader I used was directly from a 1998 backup. All I can do is work in the workbench, I don't work directly with the code. So if you want to investigate deeper into the reader.zbd you'll have to do it. I suppose that editing the reader and other files in the game without the source/original dev utility would come with it's set of problems because we really don't have any kind of error checking/debugging like they probably would have had back when they were making the game. Could the issue still lie in the .exe? I tried using the same setup I have on here on my Windows 8 laptop, and... it's not an issue with my rig, I think it might be my EXE like you said. Do you mind sending me yours?

I'm not testing any of this as my system will only do 1600x900, so if you're thinking of trying my .exe because you think I'm not having any issues with this fix, then there's no point. I'm not sure if teleguy's program actually changes the .exe or replaces it with an edited one. Either way it won't make any difference using mine or yours.

I'm not sure if teleguy's program actually changes the .exe or replaces it with an edited one. I edit Mech3.exe with Ollydebug manually to add those resolutions. The Launcher just changes the game settings the same way the ingame options menu does. To take advantage of the new resolutions you need both the Launcher and the edited Mech3.exe.

I'm guessing you had a hunch some of the y values were placing the graphic too high? so you changed the y value?

I'm guessing you had a hunch some of the y values were placing the graphic too high? so you changed the y value? Yes, I just used the coordinates for 1152x 864 because those were working fine and the location was pretty close to what was needed for 1600x 900.

ok, so just so we narrow down which settings caused the issue, was it the enemy display, or the weapons display?
btw, has anyone tested the 1680x1050 hud reader I put up?

I didn't test 1680x1050 yet. The 16:10 resolutions will require a new launcher and a new Mech3.exe so I'd rather save that for later. btw here's the newest version speedy.sh/Y6wpj/Mech3.zip

Took a peek at the launcher, I'll play around with the Mech3.exe later but the new menu placement in the launcher is pretty slick.

ok, never did the second 2 because I don't think 1280x720 was on the list, and you said 2560x1440 had glitches so I assumed you weren't ready for it. I'll get working on them both and re-check the list to see if any are missing. Obviously those two are defaulting to....I'm guessing 1024x768 and 1600x900?
Edited: August 17th, 2015 Ok, so far:
we need:
1280x720... 2560x1440...
I need to adjust: 1600x900 needs lowered Y value on enemy damage display: done. 1680x1050 needs adjustments: done.
What's actually in the hud.zrd so far: ALL RES IN THIS POST ARE DONE AND READY FOR TESTING:
640x480 800x600 1024x768 1152x864 1280x1024 1600x900 1680x1050 1600x1200 1920x1080
