For some reason in my game most of the time the AMS won't fire. It's loaded and turned on in the game, but it doesn't work. This happens for my mech, lancemates, and enemy mechs.
Everything else works fine except for AMS.
Anyone know of a fix?

AMS is not unlimited. One AMS will stop a few missiles. Two will stop a few more. You can get almost full coverage against missile attacks with 4 AMS loaded in your mech. Five AMS will stop pretty much everything.

I believe the A button toggles AMS.

Can AMS run out of ammo?

It's not an ammo problem nor is it a toggle problem. It just plain doesn't shoot. My lance's AMS won't shoot and neither will the enemy mech AMS. It doesn't seem to be a frame rate problem either since I've tried limiting to 30 fps, 50 fps, and 60 fps and nothing changes. Perhaps an issue with the quadrology's version of Mechwarrior 3?
Edit: Just did a quick test of the myabandonware rip version of Mechwarrior 3 and the AMS was working. Also was running at a limit to 40 fps too.
Edit2: Oookay now it doesn't work after starting the game up again. Man this is annoying

I don't have a whole lot of experience with the quadrilogy version of 'Mech3, but I do know it has a fair amount of tooling/fixes included with it, which means whoever made it did their own custom alterations to try and make it work. It's pretty much unknown territory. It installs to its own custom directory among who knows what else they did to it, and we DO know that it interferes with other installs of the game probably due to having a different registry. If you try a different version/install, make sure you completely delete the quadrilogy version and all applicable files first.

I think I got it working now, did some tweaking with dgvoodoo. It worked well for several missions straight. puu.sh/xCqy8/4fc9c9064c.pngpuu.sh/xCqyW/e7455887e1.pngHere are my current settings that seem to be working. Also turrets are actually shooting at me too which is nice.
