Working on an all-in-one installer. I've been reading the mwll discord lately and see people complaining about the difficulty of getting the mod so it should be simpler.
The update will include the skins and everything I've done up to now not including the missions mods, although I am thinking of including tweaking the AI on the campaign and instant action (vanilla missions tweaks) because the AI characters won't fire the lasers in the weapons mod because of the "damage over time" feature I added.
Also the weapons table I've been talking about doing will be included as well, and an updated, more detailed read-me file.
This will be labeled version 2.4
Should be done by Sunday.

Is it possible to use the missile lock for other weapons? Say, for PPC or AC or laser? So a lock would keep the weapons aimed at the target? It would be very cool. It makes sense that advanced mechs would have this capability, like our own Abrams tanks.

It makes sense but it's not canon. Also, I did try it on all the weapons. Doesn't work on energy weapons, works on all forms of AC's, but due to their trajectories and velocities it makes lock-on a moot point. In fact, you have a greater chance of missing your target because lock-on overrides your own aim if you lead the target.

So for 2.4 there are some tweaks coming in addition to the "all-in-one"concept so this adds stuff to the mod so everyone should use it...the tweaks will all be listed in an updated read-me file which will be included. Was working on making the pulse lasers slightly different: they'll fire in bursts of 3 shots and have quick recycle time between the bursts. Tweaked some of the other weapons as well. RAC5 faster recycle time, less damage (1 burst of 6 rounds equals damage of an AC5)...this makes it more balanced. Also more heat.
The weapons table is 2/3 done (energy and ballistics done). Once it's done I'll be ready to make the installer and upload it.

And here it is... mech3mod.weebly.com/downloads.htmlEveryone needs to install this, even if you have everything previously done. It has new tweaks to the weapons as well as everything else. Does not include any of the single-player missions mods.

OK....I screwed up. The install I made does not have the textures for the PPCs and some other shit. So, I'm making a new install of version 2.4, coming soon.

Ok it should be all set now. Just go to the downloads page and click the button. Same as before, but different link.
BTW, also included in this download is the c3 world textures done in HD. Let this be a preview for what I'm gonna do with the other worlds to be done later on.

I'm mentioned in the readme but nothing I did is in the mod. I don't deserve mention

I installed version 2.4 , but I get a crash to desktop "don't send" error if I try to play a multiplayer or singleplayer game. (It crashes either right when it is loading a game or when choosing a skin for a team. Help... I'm using windows XP Pro service pack 3. I have to setup compatibility to windows 98 other wise Mechwarrior 3 will crash before startup... I'm also using CPU grabber to prevent the apcs and mechs from flying. (it works)

I'm assuming you checked to make sure the install files went where they were supposed to... You shouldn't be using any compatibility settings if you're using dgVoodoo. If you're not using dgVoodoo I would recommend trying it. dgVoodoo
