Hello all! I recently created a guide here: www.reddit.com/r/OutreachHPG/comments/5tmns7/mechwarrior_3_on_modern_computers_an_update_with/I think you may find it quite helpful. I found that a lot of other guides, including ones on this forum, were missing important information, had misinformation or otherwise. If you have any suggestions for changes (formatting, content, etc) feel free to let me know here or on Reddit. I'm not perfect, it's very possible I'm wrong on something or another or missed something important. Thanks! EDIT: It appears the post was removed. It's back, was just a spam filter issue.

Solution: CTL - ALT - DEL After this, hit cancel. When the game comes back up the MFB's will start moving again.

Thanks. Though for me, doing control-alt-delete sends me to a black screen, forcing me to restart the computer. I never even get to see the windows options for what to do.

Can you bring up the task manager? Or just minimize the MW window? If you can do one of these then it should still work

Can't do either. The moment I hit control-alt-delete I'm met with a black screen. Attempting to tab out, hit escape, control-alt-delete again or anything else does nothing. Only fix is to restart. Might be a Win10 issue, hard to say.

Somewhere there should be an option "what to do when "CTL - ALT - DEL" is hit. It should take you to a login, switch users, restart, start task manager screen...

You don't seem to understand. That menu never appears in the first place. If I hit control-alt-delete, I am IMMEDIATELY greeted with a black screen. It's not like when I normally do it and get those options to pop up.
Who knows. Might even be a dgVooDoo issue.

I know what you're saying. In programs and features there may be an option to change the behavior of the key combo. I don't know for sure. I went back to Win7 from Win10 and can't remember all the options.
Another option is to just hit the Windows key on your keyboard, then just click back to the game. If that doesn't work...
You might try hitting ESC and then going into options. Then back out and hit resume. That may have an impact.
Just trying to help. I know how annoying it can be. Saving your first repair move until you get to OP Baker can be a real stretch.

Just wanted to let you know, I tested going into the options menu and then going back into the game. Seems to fix it. Thank you!

Oh, hey, just what I was looking for.
I can't seem to get Riva Tuner to actually do anything, though. The FPS counter doesn't show and vehicles still have Moonshoes on steroids attached to them. The game's also pretty choppy. I'm guessing framerate is tied to how we perceive the 'Mechs moving, since I can be speeding full-throttle and both hear and see my 'Mech go slower and then faster than, say, 86.4 KPH.

V-sync on?
You can also set the priority of Mechwarrior3 to a lower setting which will also fix a lot of problems.

Downloaded RadeonPro, so that solves more than one problem for me. Sets affinity and everything right out of the gate. How does one fix the buggy HUD? I don't know how I fixed it before, but my zoom's buggin' out, constantly zooming in and out and back again. Heat's doing the same thing but it doesn't go very high. Overall result is the game hitches constantly, which is annoying as hell. Also... no looping music? Lucky one running a copy of MW3 on an original disc, so...

In RivaTuner, you should see a "plus" icon at the bottom. Thats where you add games. Click it, find your Mech3.exe, and limit the framerate to 30. It has the option to show your FPS, you just need to enable "shown own statistics". And once you limit the FPS, you won't have physics problems, period. If you're still getting them, you're not using it right.

V-sync on? You can also set the priority of Mechwarrior3 to a lower setting which will also fix a lot of problems. In my testing, Vsync being on or off does absolutely nothing. And neither does changing the priority of Mech3 (which shouldn't do anything anyways). Just cap the FPS to 30 using RivaTuner, or another third-party tool. Nothing else is required, nor will those things do anything at all.
