EDIT: Actually, with the version of MW3 from MyAbandonWare, the 1.2 patch will install wherever you executed the Registry setup application. If you didn't by the time you used the 1.2 patch, it'll just default to C:/Microprose Hey all! I just realized this may be a huge chunk of my issues. Sure, the 1.2 patched EXE comes with the HD/Widescreen patch, but there *were other patch files*. Since I could never get that patcher to work, I just kind of ignored it. This may be why so much shit is broken on my end. Does anyone know how to get the 1.2 patch files, or get the Patcher working? When I run it, it "works" fine. It says it completed sucessfully. However, it appears the files are never written anywhere. No C:\Microprose\MechWarrior3 folder is ever created. I did a search with Everything and confirmed no Microprose folder exists on my computer, anywhere. Any ideas? I don't have a Win7 computer I can use just to get the patch files.

Everything is supposed to be in the Microprose folder. It's supposed to load like this:
c:\Microprose\MechWarrior3

New member here...
I went to the link and attempted to follow the instructions but MW3 won't install from a mounted ISO and trying to run the setup from the other file just gives me the insufficient memory error. Is there another ISO or file others using Windows 10 have been successful with to install the game and have the system see it as properly installed?
Forget the above... Just figured out what I was doing wrong.
I have it installed and the patches as well, and I can start the game fine, but entering a mission, the game crashes.

You might have to run the game through dgVoodoo2. If the game runs after that, but is ghosting the images or your Mechs/MFBs are bouncing in the air - then you will have to limit your frames to 30 using dxtory or another program.
