I can't find where I announced about the Weapons mod version 2.0, so here's a thread announcing the next version.
The MechWarrior 3 Weapons module version 2.1 is now available to download and install, please click my signature below to get to the Mech3 mod website and find the downloads page.
You need to have version 2.0 installed first, then 2.1
UPDATE: Version 2.3 of the weapons mod is now available on the downloads page
Details about the mod are all over the site, enjoy!

I've been experimenting with the different weapons and effectiveness, trying to come to grips with them all. I'm sorry to say I've removed the weapons mods because there are too many weapons that are too difficult for me to use. Too much interference with hud displays and very ineffective against smaller moving targets. I've noticed some weapons, especially lasers, have a minimum usable range. If targets are too close they become completely useless. The mods are very cool with the new sound effects but they make the game too difficult for me to manipulate. Adding the SP mods 'with' the weapon mods makes it insanely hard and takes a lot of the fun out. I'm an average player. Not real good but not real bad and I love the new sounds and added voices and really want to use them "all" but the difficulty of weapon use puts that prospect out of reach for me

That's understandable dude. Not everyone is going to like it. I hope you find enjoyment using vanilla 'Mech3 with the single-player missions I've done. I know I've gone back to normal weapons with the enhanced AI modules and had a great time I hope you're still interested in doing some modeling work.

Oh shit yeah! I'm all in and I love your stuff!!! The sounds and added difficulty of your weapons mods are very well thought out. It's just that the AI is much better at using them than I am. I hoped I didn't give you the impression I didn't like them. I just can't run everything all at once and it's a bummer because I really like them all. I'm not skilled enough to run the weapons mods "and" the campaign mods but I gave it a hell of a go On another note: When I first loaded all the mods I was getting all the added voice commands, pre mission briefings, screen enhancements, ect. I reloaded everything and they're all but gone now. I've reloaded them several times and even reinstalled the game but all the goodies are gone. I was hoping you could help me on that. What would cause the SP voicings, added screen texts, and mission voices to not show up? I'm baffled. I load the Mech3 patch, then the widescreen patch, then the first campaign mod, then the added enemies mod... Thinking maybe they were on the weapons mods, I loaded them in order also but... nothing...

Ok give me a more accurate description of what you loaded and in what order when this all happened..

loaded: mw3 patch, voodoo2, res patch, AI pack, more enemies pack, weapons pack 2.0, weapons pack 2.1 in that order. After this everything was working great. I Reinstalled MW3 and then reloaded everything except the weapons pack but all the extras were gone so I reloaded the weapons pack thinking maybe this would restore the extras but it didn't. Then reinstalled MW3 and repeated all the above but no matter what I did or what order I used I never got the extras back. I downloaded all the packs again thinking maybe something was wrong with the installer. I reinstalled the game and the patches and the campaign packs but still no extras so I reloaded the weapons packs again. Same thing. I then repeated everything 'again' with no luck. I even went so far as to uninstall my virus program thinking it was removing files. Would voodoo2 be blocking something? Or maybe something is missing from the pack installer? I have no clue what went wrong. The AI tweaks work and so does the added mechs. I just don't have the addons. Added mission voices, added environment text, etc.

Ok, not that it matters or would affect anything, but if you play with the more enemies module you don't need to bother with the AI module because the Added enemies overwrites it with better AI again.
Did you install 'Mech 3 into the proper address when you re-installed? Is your install of 'Mech3 from the cd or something else?
Added dialogues (or mission voices, as you call them) and environment texts (mission loading screen dialogues) are part of the weapons module, not the campaign mods, in case you had that confused.
Sounds to me like somewhere in one of your re-installs the file path is wrong.

AW bummer... I probably screwed up the installs somehow. If it wasn't for not being able to target elementals... I'll either need to bite the bullet and play with the weapons mod or just live without all the other cool stuff. Tough choice... [edit] screw it. I'll just have to play better Thanks for all your efforts and help. I'll be looking forward to the day I can actually compete against all you insanely talented Mechwarriors on line. First thing I'll have to do is to get used to using the mouse instead of a joystick

It's all about lateral movement my friend. Even with enhanced AI, the enemies still can't lead their shots without a targeting computer, so if you move laterally..and get your lance to follow you moving laterally where they will naturally form a skirmish line and focus their firepower, you will have a better time of it.

So, which files change the weapon stats? Can I load all the files and just leave out the ones that change how the weapons perform? The visuals, effects, and sound files are separate from the stat files?

Sound and visual files are seperate, but how the game uses them is in the same file as the weapons characteristics. So, you can't really get around it.
