I don't really care but well...it would probably mean it was their last desperate effort to save the future of MWO, so sure. BTW welcome back madcatmaniac, long time no see

MWO would be great for a console controller. You don't need many controls in that version of MechWarrior. And then PGI/Micro$oft could rake in money selling Mech packs. Microsoft would have to take over the conversion though.

Would be a quick way to drive the franchise further into the dirt.... as soon as a franchise goes from PC to console, its shortly replaced with the next version to keep the dwindling attention spans of the masses. Maybe a good thing, they might put a stop to the pay to win mmo, or it could get even worse by charging everything as dlc... oh wait, they already do. I've tried MWO a few times now and i just cant get behind it.... graphically its good, but it just didnt feel natural... it felt like mechanized call of duty. maybe im just too attached to the grungy militaristic battle hardened look of mw3... yeah... MW4 brought the franchise to a scripted cartoon cheap flash animation dark region of cut corners and then it died. MWO picked up the reins and filled in the gaps mw4 dropped but to port an MMO to console, playable only by subscribing to a yearly fee (the 360 still charges yearly, i dont own a "one") while the playstations version of same title franchises are free... i quit subscribing and thus making the xbox's online function obsolete other than a huge advertising medium "buy buy buy" "look buy look buy" "hey its cool, awe you cant cause you dont subscribe"
so yeah... if they ported MWO to the microsoft console, i doubt it would get much support compared to the pc counterpart other than the obvious cheat deterrent.... maybe im just anti console, ive bought into both versions of games (bioshock and borderlands for example on pc and the xbox) and pc version hands down always was better (graphically and game play) but i can see why the console versions were so popular (a gaming rig costs $$$) where as an xbox/psXXXX costs the same for the exact same performance (no 2 computers are exactly the same where as every xbox/playstation is *generally*)

i had high hopes for mw4 based on the evolution from the mw2 legacy to mw3.. mw4 HAD to be astronomically MORE BAD ASS... but no... we were force fed franchise garbage... the first complaint EVERYONE had was weapon mounting (which answered the complaint of mw2 and mw3's "lasers from missile racks" argument) which idealistically, made sence not shoving jumpjets into every mech you built or exhaust fumes pouring out of the center torso people loved the flexibility of "mech building" in mw2 and mw3. *insert more mw4 bashing here* *and some more here* *oh and a lil more here to top it off* the only thing i liked about mw4 was the introduction of "new" mechs previously unused but appeared in other versions of the mech franchise. the novacat needed jumpjets and a masc!! ive had a couple console mech games and theyre really lacking... there was a mech game for the original xbox which was basically a mw3/mw4 mashup of stock mech builds which shrank the battlefield and gave more playability options (you could exit the mech and jump into an elemental suit or drive a tank or hover jet *insert proper names here* but was 2 dimensional in game play.... go that way shoot... go the other way shoot... weapon damage was highly exaggerated and unbalanced like the PPC's "load time"... the game on a whole was "nifty" console gaming is as short lived as a trip to gamestop and the good feeling that 60 dollar game is now worth 8 dollars and a 5 dollar store credit 5 days after you bought it new after beating the game in 23 hours... though not all titles are play once and done, but paying yearly to play online is dumb PLUS buying each game separately then being charged for DLC while competitors offer online play for free ..|., micro$haft /endrant

haha, love it! I don't like MWO. It's a big commercial sellout no matter how "player oriented" they claim/try to be...their main goal is to squeeze as much out of the cash cow that they can, and to true 'MechWarriors like us from the old days it's an insult. And make no mistake, we are not just "gamers" we're MechWarriors--a breed apart. So, knowing that porting to console will be the beginning of the end I'm all for it. Let someone new take over the franchise. Jordan Weissman is doing a great job directing the new turn-based Battletech game, I'd love to see how a MechWarrior/cockpit sim game development led by him personally would turn out.

Porting MWO consoles would be a circus, PGI can barely make the PC version of CryEngine play nice and they don't seem to be able to make the best of the engine. As for MW4 look, you can bash the slot system all you want, but in MW games with complete customization you dont actually get a whole lot of variety. If Players can customize everything about a mech, then only 2 stats matter: hitbox size and weapon mount height. The only mechs that will matter in each weight bracket are the mechs with the smallest hitboxes - Why take a Hunchback with massive obvious cannon on the shoulder when I could pack that A\C20 into the Vindicators tiny, narrow torso?
Even with hardpoint limitations in MWO, you still see the hitbox as a major factor for mech choice - one reason why the Awesome is never taken despite the Awesome being a solid Assault mech and an iconic one for MW fans.

I called MechWarrior Online, Wallet Warrior Online and people weren't too happy. Here I am telling people PGI is raking in money instead of doing development. They should be doing much more with the game than they are currently doing. All they seem to do is release a new Mech every few months that you have to buy. mwomercs.com/forums/topic/238047-i-prefer-the-old-mech-combat-vs-mwo/page__view__findpost__p__5431390

It is Wallet Warrior online - how can they get away with charging 20$ or more for 'mech packs' when comparatively one could be buying entire games. Their money stream is basically people who will pay anything to collect 3d mechs :/ Seems like you struck a nerve with the white knights. I swear at this point the only defenders left are those hooked by the money-sink fallacy.

And if you ask me the 'Mechs don't even look good...or right. They're overblown and bloated to look "tough". I think it's just dumb.
