I haven't seen any footage of the weapons mod around. So after I tried it out and was quite impressed, I decided to record a little bit and upload it here. There is a lot more to the mod than is just shown in the video, but I didn't want to spoil all the fun.

I don't doubt that I'll end up doing more. Heck I might just record a play-through of the campaign with this stuff.

I can't wait! I've been working on this thing for probably 10-12 years! I NEVER get reviews...never really know if more than 1 person is ever trying it out. Just seeing your responses is the coolest thing! Makes it all worthwhile.

I just threw this together a bit ago since you reminded me about them. I gotta say, this game is kind of kicking my ass lately. It just plays in a way that isn't compatible with my experience in MW4. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually....

Nice! fyi, the Snub-nose PPC only has a range of 460 meters, it's the sawed off shotgun of PPC's. I was hoping to see you get creamed by the elementals but the orion got you haha... Thanks again for the video...I'm waiting for a PC upgrade to arrive so hopefully when that comes I'll be able to do videos myself. Fraps won't work on my current PC, it's too slow.

I figured as much, just still getting used to it. The Snub-nose wasn't in any of the Mekpaks so I'd never gotten to use it before.

The Snub nose has no minimum range, so that makes it the close range alternative. All the other PPC's in my mod have a minimum range of 100 meters, within that they only cause 25% of normal damage.

All the other PPC's in my mod have a minimum range of 100 meters, within that they only cause 25% of normal damage. ...so "that's" why I keep getting creamed... I have both SP packs and weapon packs installed. I have to say, They're great! Love the new sounds and added tidbits. I did have to remove the second SP pack though. It made the game insanely hard but I did manage to make it through the 3rd mission Were the hit boxes made smaller? Things seem to be harder to target and the elementals are almost indestructible because I can't seem to hit them... Maybe I need to go back to mech school...

No hit boxes were changed, can't do that. Overall damage on all weapons is brought down by 15% in order to create a more favorable ratio of defense to offense in the game. The lasers are a little harder to use because they do "damage over time" like the original 'mech3 pulse lasers only much much shorter, and their damage is not as focused in one spot so that would make it harder to kill elementals with lasers than it used to be. Try using missile weapons that have high splash damage, such as SRM's or the Arrow IV...ATM's have more splash than other missiles too, though not as high as SRMs. Don't bother trying for lock-on, just lead-shoot them. Don't feel bad, the harder SP campaign is a challenge for even the best multiplayer vets from the old days. You really have to use all your skills and 'MechWarrior knowledge. Enemies are definitely harder to target in my mods of the campaign...I tweaked the AI so that enemies no longer do the "stop, go backwards, turn, look dumb" crap they originally did. They keep moving now like actual 'Mech pilots would, and they circle-fight. As for vehicles, Harrassers are much, much faster than before.

Btw, thanks for the compliment. It's always great to hear good things about the mod. Practice up, I want you to eventually beat the harder campaign! There's going to be an even harder one coming out later!

OK, I reinstalled the patch. I made it through the 1st underground (OP 2 mission 2). It was hard and took me 5 tries. I think I cheated though. I didn't destroy the convoy right away. I let them all get to their destination and after I eliminated all the threats I headed up the ramp to do them in when I noticed 2 mechs powered down... so, I decided to take them out before they could do me any damage by blowing a leg off each. I figured there might be a trigger for them set to trip when the last of the convoy vehicles was destroyed. I actually never found out if this was true. If I would have had to deal with them I would have never finished the level.
I'm still scared to death of elementals though. Those sneaky little rats...
Also noticed something a little odd. I'd been having trouble running Pirate Moon because every time I fired the jump jets I would nose dive into the dirt. Well, while running the mech3 campaign this last time my jump jets would miss fire occasionally. I have no clue what's going on with them but it never happened before. Only with PM and again recently with the mods installed in MW3...
[edit] For whatever reason, I've lost all the added audio when reinstalling the patches. Is there a specific order to install? I installed to the "default" directory and then moved all the files into C:\Herby\games\Mechwarrior\Mechwarrior3

You probably didn't move all the necessary files. The thing to do would be to go back to the install itself and when it tells you "installer will install 'Mech3 Mod to bla bla directory, insert your \Herby\games in it's proper slot in the displayed directory and you should be fine.
So did you kill the Thor and the Champion before they came to life, or just ignore them?

So did you kill the Thor and the Champion before they came to life, or just ignore them? AHAH!!! So "DO" they wake up??? I bet they do, You sneaky rascal! Of course I plowed them before they woke up. There's 47 mechs and a thousand elementals that pounce on you in that level and... I don't like playing fair unless I absolutely have to. If I can exploit it I definitely will (The hardest part is the very beginning of the level when you get pounced on by 3 mechs at once). I've played through the unmodified game with just a bushwhacker and no lancemate support. I didn't cheat but I 'did' take advantage of every glitch and bug in the game. By the way. I watched a few of your vids and you're very good!!! I'm going to reload everything and see if it doesn't straighten things out. About the resolution... Did you add it into the game or is it still a work in progress because I never noticed any change in the menus. I'm running Voodoo2 @ 1920x1080 on win7 with AMD 6800 GFX 'and' the res patch @ 1280x1024 (any higher and the game crashes) but I don't think it's running at that resolution but merely stretching the screen... I'm not sure if I really know what I'm doing. Any suggestions?

If you installed the resolution patch made by Teleguy, then you need to only install his GUI portion of it if you're using the weapons mod 2.1 2.1 has the proper HUD file, which places the HUD elements (jjets bar, weapons display, heat bar, enemy display and so forth) in their proper location on the screen relative to what resolution you've chosen through Teleguy's GUI---You have to choose a resolution from his GUI, if you've chosen one through your graphics software it won't work if it's not supported. Make sure you read his read-me file.
The Thor and Champion should have woken up as soon as you killed one or the other, and if you ignored them then after you kill the Orion in chamber 3 they should wake up. If not then maybe I did that in a harder version of the campaign lol.
I've been modding/playing this game pretty much non-stop since 1998 I oughtta be better than I am actually. I have never played any other games except for the occasional forays into Vengeance and Mercs. oh, and of course Pirate's Moon..pretty much played that almost just as much as 'Mech3.
