Finally, community warfare is sorta out. Pick a faction, contract, and fight to secure worlds for your faction. I think it is pretty cool, and it is nice to finally have a goal beyond shoot to grind c bills. I haven't played MWO in over a year and I have started to really enjoy it. It is still lacking in terms of content, but it is much much better than when I last played. I may even stick around and stay active this time.
Anyone else playing or thinking about giving it another shot?

Not I. I do not like what they have done with the mech lab and the slot/module system. way to complicated for a casual player, which I would be. MWO will always be unfinished in my opinion with out a campaign of some sort.

Not me neither! I don't see any good reason to invest in a PC that can play that game. I'll never get my wish regarding natural obstacles on maps being more than just holograms. That new jungle map goes right up my ass! How can you have so much foliage and trees and no obstacle-like effects? It's nothing more than a first-person shooter to me. I'm disgusted. They've dumbed down and commercialized MechWarrior. I'm thoroughly disappointed in the lack of organization and administration and the idea that they're not utilizing the capabilities of the engine they're using like they could. It's just LAME.

Not me neither! I don't see any good reason to invest in a PC that can play that game. I don't really blame ya there, it really isn't a game worth building a pc for. The game feels very lacking. Lots of little details missing like you mention, hologram trees and cars, mech feet don't adjust to the terrain, etc. But I think the core gameplay is pretty good, mechs are fun to pilot. Weapons like lasers and LRMS fire in a way you would expect, and killing an enemy light mech and watching it tumble to the ground is really satisfying, but in every other way the game is pretty lacking. Not enough maps, not enough polish, and everything in the game is way too expensive. It is good enough that I enjoy playing it, but it is not good enough to spend money on, yet there are idiots with more money than sense buying $500 gold skins. It's frustrating. It's cool that MW has something out there for people to play, but the franchise deserves better than this. It deserves a proper boxed game, with mp, sp, and the whole package, and it deserves a developer with more talent. I wouldn't call MWO "bad" per se, it just is alright, and could easily be so much better. off topic: Reinstalled MW3 today, and I got it running fine, but does anyone have those resolution patches from "eaterofpies"? If i remember correctly there was a 1080p patch? I just noticed that the 768 version is on the download page, but I am looking for one of the Higher Res ones he made.

I am not aware of higher rez patches.I do recall EoP offering to do other rez patches upon request but never heard of any being done, gl tracking them down.
If any one has EoP's contact info maybe contact him directly.
Peri
Edit: EoP' contact: eaterofpies@msn.com . Not sure if it is current, had him in my hotmail contacts. I have a few others as well.

Couldn't have said it better Bryo. I like when people say it better than me...in the heat of passion I get caught up in my main complaints and sometimes tend to forget about some of the other little things that really count.

Hahahah....3 years too late. I stopped caring about MWO somewhere around late 2012; the tiny maps, the unforgiving meta, the grind (oh galaxy, the grind). MWO is a mediocre heir to a superior line of mech simulator games. I reinstalled MW4Mercs and got my new joystick to work, that game may have been light on some simulator elements but its gameplay is as smooth as silk.

I was thinking about installing Mercs. Oh the horror, but it's better than nothing.
