To export: go into the mechlab through instant action; select the custom mech you'd like to export; hit ctrl-x choose a folder to place it in (I'd suggest the configs folder) hit save
You now have a custom mech exported. If you have multiple mechs to export that you want to send to someone create a folder for the mechs and export them there. Then you can send someone the folder and they can import them.
To import: go into the mechlab through instant action (assuming someone sent you some mechs) if you know what mechs they are (is it a blackhawk? is it a strider? a daishi?) select that mech in the mechlab ex. if they sent you a custom Daishi, go into the mechlab and select daishi hit ctrl-i go to the folder that has the custom exported mechs and hit save (hopefully you know where you put it; sensibly that would be within the game folders. I put mine next to the "configs" folder and named it "customs" scroll down the list of daishi alternates and your new import should be listed there.

Here is a folder with some customs for you to import if you like: customs.zipx (1.43 KB)

Like I said on Discord, I will work on a nice folder of Mech Configs for people to use. That's awesome you remembered this. I had forgotten.

Apparently it matters where you place the folder to import from. Either that or something is screwy. I imported all the mechs per directions and they showed up but when I restarted the game they were gone. I found 2 folders in the configs folder. A 'pilots' folder and another 'configs' folder...
I tried to download the custom.zipx and I can't extract it.

It doesn't matter where you put the folder to import from as long as you know where it is, and what the mech files are named. Go into the mechlab in the game, select the mech for which you know there is a config to import, hit "ctrl-I" (doesn't have to be uppercase I) and the windows dialogue window appears...find the mech to be imported and hit save. Easy P-Z.

I followed all the directions when I imported Stoney's builds. It didn't take. I'll try it again.
What about your .zipx file above? I can't open it.
