smokejaguars.comHello everybody. Little introduction about myself: I am Ignotus Kotare, and I currently run an active group of 30+ members in MWO under the CSJ banner with the tags of CSJx. Trying to get some of my guys actively involved in MW3 in attempts to revive / expand the MW3 Community by doing what I can with my IT knowledge to get their machines up and running and am willing to lend a hand to anybody that is having problems running MW3 on their rig. I've been playing MW3 since 1999 as a youngling, and without a doubt, it was a HUGE part of my childhood and still holds a strong presence in my heart until this day. Thus, it has been a personal dream of mine to play MW3 in a competitive setting in which I missed due to not being exposed to online play during the reign of the MSN Gaming Zone. Is there a specific online interface that you guys use (ie. Gameranger, GameSpy, etc.) or anything of the such? Or is there some small group of players that still get together from time to time? I look forward to becoming actively involved, hearing from anybody on this thread, and having some games with you all on here. - Khan Ignotus Kotare

Welcome Ignotus.
Gamneranger and Digital blood sports are the only places to gather to play. Game ranger has the benefit of having teams enabled but it is laggy, at least it was when I last played there. DBS has the benefit of being designed and built by an old zone moderator and looks and feels much like the zone did back in the day but sadly they have not conquered the team play issue.
Mw3 is also available for dl there as an iso. I am pretty sure it is v1.2
There is also the option of direct ip connections as well.

Yes, that's true, a group could be formed to play IP games on certain nights...could communicate with one of the voice chats.

Sweet. Got the game up and running on an older rig that I designed just for Mech 3 and the Pirate's Moon Expansion pack. I have ISOs for both games in case anybody reading the thread is interested.
I'd personally enjoy seeing an established day for the MW3 community to get together, like a gaming night so to speak. Like every Saturday or Sunday night, or something of the sort?

I could do Saturday nights...I just have to get an ethernet cord for my Mech3 PC, and figure out how to disable the verizon firewall. To those who don't know, mainly inexperienced Mech3 multiplayer ppl, firewalls screw with the game...you will have major lag issues and something we used to call...hmm, can't remember..Stoney, what did we call that when ppl would suddenly jump from one area to another...like they phased in and out of the game? It can be very annoying for all players. So, the common procedure was to turn off all firewalls and antivirus programs for a game. Also, there are certain necessary settings for routers.

I do not what the specific term for that was, but in MWO and in some other games I play, that would be called warping or teleporting.
