It's amazing to me how many guys just slug it out with only 2 movement options when facing off: forward and reverse. I hardly see anyone using lateral movement or even trying to spread damage when the shit starts hitting the fan.

I'm about to start watching them myself, but my internet is bogged down uploading. I just tried the game out. Reminds me alot of MechWarrior 4.
I don't see an option for torso twisting. The controls list the A and D keys as strafing left or right. I will give it more of a try later on.

looks a little buggy too. Sometimes there are out of cockpit views, and most cockpits are just black non=textured.

It used to be that all the mechs had cockpits, but the last content-adding update before Wandering Samurai had to stop working on it was only partly finished. For instance the Atlas used to have a fairly featureless head/cockpit area just so that the player could see out of it, but when they changed it to the traditional "deaths head" design they had to remove the cockpit view so the pilot isn't blinded.
And yeah it's buggy, and a lot of the players don't really know their stuff since they're new to MechWarrior, but I still think it's a step up from MW:O

Reminds me of MechWarrior 4 with less cartoony graphics. When I have the free time, I will be playing it more. Had a great experience my first day playing.

Agreed, and with MechWarrior 4 being my favorite of the bunch that's a big plus. I played it again recently, but didn't get to enjoy it much before my hard drive crapped out on me. Just got it replaced though so now I'll be able to hop back in the cockpit. I hope they fix the bug preventing joystick/throttle setups from working soon...

What an absolute noob. I did laugh my complete ass off when the BA killed him in the hanger near the end.
