Hi All,
I've been away from the forums for some time and it really saddens me to hear the news about Dawg. If there is any sort of fund going for his family etc. please do PM me I'd like to contribute.
I've been thinking about MW3 quite a lot lately and even after all the modern games out today I can't think of a better community or gaming experience I've had. Glad to see people are still around and keeping things going. To that end if there is anything I can do to help keep this forum going or help host any of the original content etc. please let me know.
p.s. I'm sure i'll figure it out browsing around but... where do folks play nowadays?
~ Wolvy

hey hey...look who it is! Nice to see you bub! yeah, it sucked finding out about DawgPack. His family had an online obituary but I'm pretty sure it's gone now, so I don't know of any way to contact his family. I just made a post about playing multiplayer. No one does that I know of, but there are two ways you can, that I know of: Gameranger, and digitalbloodsports. digitalbloodsports.com/index.phpwww.gameranger.com/

It definitely has been a while. Good to know you geezers are still around.... ha. I'm still picturing Freako with a Windows 98 SE machine held together with duct tape and a good supply of old replacement parts. Hows the family Peri - your son still into design or moved to something else? (forgive me if i got my memory off here... even i'm gettin' old)

I was actually thinking about Wolverine and those old c1 players yesterday. I was wondering where you went to.

Deek got married has two kids and works for Apple as a customer service manager. He is doing well, he is doing some database design work for Apple to make his and other managers jobs easier.

Actually I have an old xp I bought at a yard sale for $60.00 and a refurbished dell OptiPlex 785 or something refurbished from tiger direct for like $80 bucks with windows 7x64, both I use exclusively for 'Mech3 and Pirate's Moon and modding. The windows 7 runs both games smooth as silk and has integrated graphics. Oddly enough I have a windows 7 laptop that doesn't run 'Mech3 very well. It runs the GUI's no problem, but in the mechlab 'mechs are screwed up and in-game the graphics are completely screwed. It might be 32 bit though, I sometimes wonder if that's the difference. Maybe they fixed reverse compatability for windows 7x64?

Ahhh Stoney - i do miss my 12 er small strider on "non ice" maps when some more strategy was involved On a side note - a few months ago i actually found some open source code for a direct play lobby system; uses PHP and IIRC on the server end and a simple client side executable. Can't find documentation or the source anymore online but i do have the files. I might fiddle with it a bit see if i can get it working or at least post it up here for others to take a stab at. I'm a bit rusty with code, it is under GPL and a dead project so it shouldn't be a concern posting it for DL. I know there are places to play but would be cool to kind of host our own where people know to go.

Yes that would be cool. There's a guy named Gary at digitalbloodsports.com who made direct play lobbies just like the old zone and you can set one up for 'mech3 and pirate's moon with 16 players. Maybe you could talk to Gary about helping you fill in the information gaps you need with the lobby code you're talking about.
