https://www.reddit.com/r/mechwarrior/comments/500xwh/mechwarrior_3_running_properly_on_a_169_monitor/ Using Voodoo2 fixed some issues for me here too. Thanks to many threads, I have finally fixed my issues!! My steps: 1) Install the High Res Patch www.vogons.org/download/file.php?id=17299&sid=cfee09576a2d218b3f7ad2836616a9b72) Install CPU Grabber or another program that limits your frames to 30 FPS and run that before playing. 3) Install dgVoodoo2 5.1 dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2_51.zip3.1) While running Voodoo, under Glide and Direct X turn Force VSync on. 3.2) Under both Glide and Direct X tab turn your resolution up to 1920x1000. If you can't Jump Jet freely or you Shoot to the Moon after stepping off a hill, try a different resolution. This Bouncing APCs/Mechs/Shoot to the Moon bug was the WORST next to the acid trip bug I used to receive. Now I can see the in game text during multiplayer too. Thanks to numerous people and numerous threads, when put all together, helped me fix this issue. Link to a video of the game running in HD:

just want to re-iterate something here:
ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TELEGUY'S RESOLUTION/HUD COMBO PATCH: The hud.zrd in his install does not have my mod, and will overwrite the WHOLE WEAPONS MOD. I'm talking about Weapons Mod 2.0 that is currently available at my mod website. I am working on the next version of this mod, which will include the new hud file with the patch's added resolutions/hud display screen locations. It's almost done, so stay tuned. To be a little more specific, the "hud.zrd" is a sub-file within reader.zbd, which is the file Teleguy includes within the zip file of his download, and it is meant to be used in conjuction with his .exe patch. If you have the above mentioned mod installed, this reader.zbd file will overwrite the mod. My next version of the Weapons mod will include the hud.zrd that goes with Teleguy's .exe, so you will not need to use the reader.zbd that is included in his zip file, once I have made it available.

Almost done, sweet. I'm not sure if I messed with you Mod doing this or not. I still have Freako's Mod on the title screen and I see all the Stock Mechs and weapon changes.

If you installed the reader.zbd that was in the zip file with the .exe/resolution GUI (the patch) then you overwrote the weapons and stock mechs. If you didn't install the reader file, then you still have the mod reader but your hud might not line up right with most of the resolutions. If you're using a resolution that was already supported by the game (and there are some beyond 768x1024) then the hud will work fine, and you wouldn't notice.

The next version of the weapons mod has A LOT of changes and new stuff:
Flamers were way too powerful; in the 2.0 version I added splash damage radius which made them easier to use in multiplayer lag...but it turned out this made them a god-like weapon, so I took that off lol. Also adjusted their damage down a little bit to make it more fair. I had their damage turned up in the 2.0 mod. They were just ridiculously overpowered.
Arrow IV missile: reduced damage; reduced tracking so they don't act like streak missiles anymore. You can dodge them but some still hit; Also gave them the "swarm" effect that SRM's have so they have a different look so you KNOW what's coming at you when you see it.
Added a lot of new stock varients; Made the "Phantom" less deadly; less armor, 6 of the lasers are in the arms, but it's faster.
Increased the velocity of the Sniper Artillery Canon so it wouldn't be such a useless weapon for it's bulk...also added a little more damage.
When you target a 'mech, the computer now says "Targetting" but adds the name of the 'mech (thanks to my friend Sue who did her best to sound like the 'mech3 computer voice)
All Huds have been written in for matching Teleguy's new resolutions patch.
Adjusted some of the sounds: Impact sounds were previously (in version 2.0) too loud at a distance so I turned them down. Some weapons sounds weren't loud enough at a distance so they got turned up. PPC's the thunder can be heard from over 1000 meters away.
Changed the H.A.G.20 to the H.A.G. 30
Mission conditions: during the campaign mission loading dialogue I have put in "mission conditions" which describe the pertinent facts of the mission area for that mission (in text)
Weapons tables: I will include a weapons table chart in the form of an excel file...or maybe a pdf might be better.

That's great work Freako. You've become our Finnegan McCool, Dawg Pack, and Mektek all wrapped up in one guy.

I sometimes see lines around the screen, but I will trade that for the bugs I used to have. Can't wait for the new mod version.

what resolution are you running? 1920x1080. Sometimes I see the lines, sometimes I don't. It doesn't bother me b/c I'm not OCD. It's a great trade to be able to JJ and read in game text.

hmm. I'm not sure if that was already supported by the game anyway, but regardless, you've obviously gotten improvements. Maybe all the other stuff you did fixed your issues, and not the patch. See, what I'm not understanding is that if you installed the reader file that came with that patch then you should not have the mod weapons. I've looked at your videos and the lasers still behave the same as the mod, so I know it's working. If you didn't install the reader file, then for some reason your HUD is correct anyway. It may be that the game is choosing the closest script it has available in the hud file to match the resolution...or for some reason 768x1024 stretches out to fit that resolution anyway. I do remember that the game hud choices did sometimes work with new resolutions from when I was doing the work with teleguy.

We've together seen what I have been going through lol.
