So....seemingly bereft of any decent ideas they simply went back to 1996 and copied Earthsiege's resource mechanics? hilarious and depressing. What was wrong with the heat scale from the tabletop game? what about flickering the player's reticle? too many shutdown overrides and the player explodes!? 2 decades worth of MechWarrior game ideas to use / explore and they just copy-pasta from the 'Sonic' of Mech games. Can they just fail already and get out of the way?

one can only hope. Generally I don't actively cheer for a game to outright fail, these days many companies do a good job of patching their game which makes the game better...but PGI has had 4 years to get it together...

Once Battletech comes out, PGI might fold and listen to the community. The consensus of those players is that Heat Scale was fine and that Energy Draw will reduce the number of builds. I don't mind an Assault being able to Alpha for 70-110 damage when a Light only normally Alphas 30. That's how it should be with the Mechs bringing in that tonnage. Now Assaults with Energy Draw will have their firepower reduced, which makes the other 3 weight classes even better.
