Using the Quad pack, the game will work, but you won't be able to use Freako's Mod currently. Be sure to install to version 1.2 of the game. One way I've found to stop APCs and such is the resolution patch and setting your FPS to 30. All of that is linked in the help section for MechWarrior 3.

I've yet to add the other mods, but the weapons mod itself is working flawlessly for now!

The launch utility for the quad pack for Mech3 has a setting for fps.

Gotcha! I just finished mission 2 of op. 1 with no problems. I'll give that a go and continue to play through the game(since I never have) unless you think there's a better way to test the game!
