There was one other guy who complained about fps recently, and I think it was in regards to using a fix/patch of some sort, or maybe the quadrilogy install.

I used a CD Image I made years ago from my original CD AKA Legit copy. I'm running the image from a SSD hard drive. Shouldn't be much of an issue. I'm thinking possibly windows 8.1 is having a hard time with the renderer. When I first installed MW3 windows asked to install DirectPlay. Which is kind've old and likely not fully supported by 8.1 (just guessing at this point though) The framerate shouldn't keep me from playing with you guys.  |

ok, the quadrology didn't help my framerate any. But here's a strange bit.. When I hold the ESC key (makes the HUD go away) my FPS normalizes and looks fine. So it's something to do with the hud. wtf..

So it's something to do with the hud. wtf.. That's weird. When I installed with the pack, I checked almost every option it had. My game didn't work until I pushed it passed 800x600. |

refresh rate of your monitor needs to be set at 60hz

I just installed the quadrilogy 'Mech3 and Pirate's moon on my laptop. Yes, they do install to a different drive, so my mod won't install to that version of 'Mech3 if you have it. At some point I'll make an installer for the mod to run on Quadrilogy.
It has cd emulation with daemon tools and a few other nifty tricks, like certain graphics fixes you can choose from before you play. It's pretty neat, and they could've added more to it...maybe they will. This "catalyst repacking group" would be worth contacting.
I'll try and be online for some games tonight. (Tuesday)
